The scale of KwIDF is huge. Four different fields in Kuwait, four KOC digital field pilot projects - all advance at the same time! KOC is working with four partners, to develop the integrated digital solutions for four different sets of challenges. The combination of state-of-the-art technology and a collaborative work environment is at the heart of each of the KwIDF pilot projects. In the oil and gas industry there has never been anything like it!
The Kuwait Intelligent Digital Field (KwIDF) - Sabriyah by Kuwait Oil Company was the winner of the 2013 ADIPEC Award in the category of Best Gas & Oil Innovation or Technology.

This important prize to excellence recognizes the best innovations in the Mena region. In ADIPEC 2013, a field of 292 applications from 22 countries was whittled down to just six as the winners of the different categories.

The award's ceremony took place suring the Gala Dinner at Abu Dhabi's Emirates Palace . In the picture (right): Mr. Emad Sultan, Deputy Chief Executive North Kuwait and Mr. Ahmad Al-Jasmi, Team Leader Research & Technology (Surface) holding KOC's Award.
 
KOC is proud of this recognition, which positions the company in the frontline of the Oil and Gas Industry  in Digital Fields upstream technology, leading Middle East and North Africa. During the Gala Dinner at Abu Dhabi's Emirates Palace, KOC’s award was handed over to Mr. Emad Sultan, Deputy Chief Executive North Kuwait and Mr. Ahmad Al-Jasmi, Team Leader Research & Technology (Surface).
 
ADIPEC AWARD
Judging criteria for the Best Gas & Oil Innovation or Technology:
1.       Identification of a major advance in the development of the new technology
2.       Significant contribution to overall knowledge based technology, locally (how is it
3.       Developed locally, R&D established to develop and transform the technology in light of
4.       further local development)
5.       Original concept and application of the new technology
6.       Innovation benefits and their competitive advantages in the gas & oil industry
7.       Accomplished impact in comparison to the size of the project, product or service
8.       Organizational and financial commitment towards technology research, development
9.       and its commercial potential
10.   Innovation/technology update (better efficiency, new data, gathering - statistics)
 
The Jury was comprised of well-known industry experts representing regional NOCs, IOCs, EPCs, R&D departments, academic institutions, and professional associations in order to include various departments, experiences and countries in the region.
